Heh. Yeah. I've seen lots of optometrists but not the surgeons.

I think I'll do this.

I don't know what you kids are talking about but my VA doctor put me on 120MG of Furosemide/Lasix twice a day and I spend most of my time running to the facilities.
It ain't funny!

Well now, living in Ontario has its' benefits and one of them is National Hospitalization known in Ontario as OHIP! I reached that age in life when I had to have cataracts removed from my eyes and part of the op is to insert lenses so that you no longer require glasses. In my case I still have to but my eyesite is much better....now I remove my glasses when using the camera and my eysight is pretty good without the glasses so I just compose and shoot!! This was the best thing since sliced bread for me!!

Glasses never bugged me until I became a father. Now I want to be able to see my kids if I am in the water with them.

Glasses always bugged me: sports, swimming, winter fogging, rain, loving, sweating, you name it. Glasses were a minor form of improsonment for me.

In addition to an interest in photography, I spend many hours of each day reading, not only for work, but also for enjoyment. Although I have spoken to a number of people who have had the lasik surgery done and who rave about how it has changed their lives for the better, I am always afraid I could be one of those "one in a thousand" who have problems. I cannot conceive of a life without being able to see well and to read. I have worn glasses and contacts for over 40 years and I guess I have become accustomed to it.

Everyone I've talked to who has had the procedure have had positive results and say "run" to the doctor to get the procedure. I am just the type of person who can start rainstorms by washing my car or make short sellers happy when I buy long in the stock market. So yes, like you, I have my concerns of being in the minority of lasik patients who have complications.

A friend of mine got it done on a whim and regretted it. I think there are certain types of eyes that aren't good candidates for the procedure and you need to make sure to go to a place that does a thorough pre-evaluation to make sure you're a good candidate before doing the procedure (this is just what I've read on behalf of my wife who is considering it but may not be a good candidate).

Didn't Tiger Woods have it done? Maybe go to his eye doctor
