the exact same system we have in Finland... But it's not like we keep them in the safes. My pap's for instance shoots deer from his kitchen window... I don't remember the last time he bought meat

All I know is, when the shizzle goes downizzle, I'll be glad to know all my hunting buddies, and they'll be glad to know I can fish. Sliced up a 20# salmon just last night. Some good looking steaks

Thanks for the clarification Austen.

As for my guns, my .45 is under my side of the bed, and the 9mm is under my wifes side of the bed.
Both are in locked boxes with push button combos. My wife knows her combo, I know them both.
I timed it. It's just as fast as grabbing it out of a night stand drawer (if under a couple of t-shirts).

Not as pretty as the brown my buddy caught, but it feeds a family for a week.

And they aren't always that big, LOL:

Nice fish, John! All of this "hey, it's almost Thanksgiving and Christmas" stuff while still being 80F+ outside screws up my internal season balance.

Is it the same from a dead sleep, though? That's the difference, imo.

I have several guns throughout the house. Some are high, some are in drawers, a few in modified furniture (which I'm considering marketing on the side). My "bed gun" is simply stuck into the space between the mattress and box spring in a holster, grip sticking out, ready to grab. It's cocked and locked so it's grab, drop safety, fire.

Keep in mind, though: I don't have kids and my early warning system is a German Shepherd who doesn't sleep at night. If we're expecting kids, most guns get "safed" that are accessible by untrained children. My friends who teach their kids don't worry me too much but I still get them out of the way.
