Sigh.... Been sick for about a week now. Started last friday and by monday I was sure I had strep, but luckily that wasnt the case. Only left my house a few times (including a concert saturday night, but I'll be damned if I throw away a $140 ticket) during this time because when you live alone, if you need stuff done, you still are the one that has to do it.

Still feel like crud. Glad I have another day off before I have to go back to work.... Watched a lot of dvd's. If any of you are science nuts, look up "Through the wormhole" with Morgan Freeman. Really neat stuff. Deep physics and quantum mechanics stuff.

I'm leaving in the morning for a week long camp out in Idaho. The venue is called woodsmoke. I'll be teaching land navagation, map and compass, GPS and alternative methods.

A week after I get back I'll be heading for California for another week of camping to teach modern survival and primitive methods of fire making.

Aimee is going on both camping trips with me.

After that I have some wodworking projects lined for $$$ and doing some improvement type maintenance on my truck...so much for retirement huh?

Santa Barbara, near the Santa Ynez river......can't go too far out of my way I'll be car pooling.

I know it well. It's a meager six hour drive. I used to go out on the live aboard dive boats there.
Three day trips to the Channel Islands.

Well boys and girls, I've tried all sorts of things on my own, but it ain't working.
So I've done it. I'm getting help for my problem.

I've re-joined weight watchers.

Michael has met me, and knows I'm a bigger guy.
But even at 6'4", 314.8 pounds (according to their calibrated scale) is just too damned much.

As just one more issue to try to keep me on the program, I'll report back here on my weigh in days.
I went on Saturday morning, but alas, we are going boating this Saturday. So I'll have to find a good time to go weigh in and go to a meeting.

Sheesh, it sounds like AA or something. But let's face it. Food is an addiction for some of us. And unlike smoking or drugs, you can't just stop eating cold turkey.

Good luck to you man. Its rough at first, but once the pounds start falling off, it becomes its own motivation. Make sure you dont undereat to lose weight and youll be able to keep it off.
