I don't know. It's an old 1985 Toyota pickup. It's not as if it was in pristine condition when I got it.
On my insurance, I only carry PL and PD (Public Liability and Property Damage). No Comprehensive or Collision. It wouldn't take a whole lot of damage for an insurance company to claim it as totaled, as it's value isn't all that high.

I'd be surprised if the other guy even HAS insurance.
I'll wait until the police report comes out, and then I'll call the other guys insurance company directly, because all the info will be on there.

That's a pain in the posterior. My mother got smashed into a couple of years ago.
She did have comprehensive insurance but they wouldn't pay out enough to replace the car as it was more than five years old.

Thats the problem. They go by book prices. And yeah, Allen, if it was an 85 and had a good amount of damage, they could total it. The good news is that, if the damage is consistent (your right side and his left), and the scene shows it was a merge, you "shouldnt" have any issues with that person's insurance, as long as they have it.

And that is one reason cop cars pretty much all have dash mounted video cameras.


Hope they can fix it. I know if they total it, you wont get much. Couple hundred at best.

I won't let them total it.
It's minor damage, and is still drivable.
In fact, if I wanted to fix it, I could probably just find a new bed in a boneyard.
That is of course if any boneyards have any parts for cars that old.

NADA Guide shows average retail of $2150 with a high of $2625.

Everyone who's seen it in person has said its a good looking little truck.

The paint is a little oxidized, but I buff it out once a year whether it needs it or not.
The not so funny thing is, I was just about to do that.

Last week was a hell of a week. I only hope this one is better.
But if you include Sunday in the calendar week, it's not looking good.

I told you about my accident/road rage issue last week.
But did I tell you my wife broke the handle off the kitchen faucet? It was either look for an oddball repair part (it's a single handle faucet) or replace the faucet.
I searched high and low, but found the part for $10. It's a lot better than $200 for a new faucet and the time under the sink to install it.
Friday morning, the shower in the master bath starts dripping. Can't get it to turn off now matter how hard you crank on the handles.
Okay, another trip to the hardware store. Found the gaskets. Luckily I already had the special sockets to remove a shower stem.

Saturday, my wife tried to kill me (just kidding). We went hiking in a wilderness area, and she was practically running up the hill, expecting me to keep up.
Now, I know Michael and I have met, some knows I'm not exactly in the greatest of shape (although I try). Not only that, I had 25 pounds of camera gear and a Camel on my back.

Yesterday, one of our indoor only kitties had gotten out, and we didn't know it until we got home and looked for her.
She had a nice seven hour adventure in the great outdoors.
But she did come home on her own.
A half hour later, she got out again.
But this time, my wife figured out how she got out. Then we found her a few minutes later, and got her back in.

It's going to be a challenge to keep this one indoors.

The start to the week doesn't sound too good, Alan.

Why are they indoor only kitties? It's not something we do all that much here...mostly they go in and out - often through a cat flap in the door.

Possibly the same reason mine are indoor cats. People drive like morons, plus others are just mean. Safer inside.
