Meanwhile, I stuck a treble hook in my calf below the barb Saturday. I've never cone this in 30+ years, and now I've done it twice in one season, LOL.

^^^ Rookie!!! I de-barb all of my hooks since the dogs likes to bite at the flies or lures I'm using. I could catch that dumb dog all day long.

Debarbing hooks is for blouse wearing poodle walkers and trout anglers.

Besides, there's no de-barbing these things. It was a 4/0 Owner ST-41 treble with Cutting Points that got me. Hook pulled free from the fish, and shot back at me. I felt it brush my leg, but didn't realize that the surgically sharpened hooks had taken hold. I did fish foranother 9 hours afterwards, BTW. I'm no sissy.
