Default General and miscellaneous / One Offs

Sometimes you just want to post something but it's not anything specific, so you head over here to the O/T section, and ask yourself "Does this one post I'm about to make really deserve it's own thread ?"

Often the answer is "No..Not really", so do you not post at all, or start a thread that's not really necessary ?

Now there's a third option......Presenting the General and miscellaneous / One Offs thread !!!

For something like this ....

I've been getting emails (I did subscribe, not spam) from a guy wanting to teach me photography.

Here's a link Learn Digital Photography Now and if you scroll down a bit, you'll see a picture of a boat with a bridge in the background, and the statement "You'll be taking night pictures like this in no time!"

Something like this maybe ??

I'll try a different camera angle tomorrow, I was going by memory tonight !!!!

I've just "found" an Agfatronic 301CB flash , sans manual ............

Has anyone got an old Agfatronic flash instruction manual that they could look at and please tell me what the orange slide switch on the front does in the white / green/ yellow positions ?

Google didn't want to be my friend !!!

Many thanks,

Austen.

Lightbulb Epson Cartridge Give Away

I've brought the wrong cartridges for my Epson printer, brought a pack of 6, installed one and found it was the "Wrong Country Code".

If they are any good to you let me know and they're yours, I'll even post 'em to you !!!

Austen,
Found this website (translated from French - but gives you the basic info you were after. Translated version of http://www.generation-nt.com/s/all+in+one+printer+kodak+low+cos/?cat=entraide&page=13&sort=rank

Which contains the following:

"white - manual measuring the distance of your subject and use the stop recommended by the ruler.
Green or Yellow - auto mode adjust the stop on the value indicated by the Green or Yellow correspondent on the dial - the flash automaticallyrule the intensity of light."

Hope this helps.

And the ride goes up and down and around and around and it has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud. And it's fun - for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question; is this real? Or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, and they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because... this is just a ride." - BILL HICKS. Any of our Canadian friends speak French and are able to see if our translation includes everything I need to know ??

Reminds me of a joke about a computer translator that translated "Hydraulic Ram" into another language and back into English, and ended up with "Water Goat" !!

Hi Austen, while looking for the manual of the Agfatronic 301CB myself I can at least answer your question about the switch on the front. As you mention in your question it has three positions. White - Green - Yellow The White Position is the Manual Mode (7 metres with Diafragma 4 with 100 ASA) The Green and Yellow are for the automatic modes and refer to the colorschema on the backside of the flash. The green refers to a setting to diafragma 8 and the yellow to diafragma 4 with 100 ASA (If you look to the sensor opening next to the switch you can see that if you point the switch to the white position that the sensor is completely invisible. With the green position you can see a small hole and it is 'open' (no visible hole) when you switch it to yellow.) A simple non-electronic way to change sensibility of the sensor/flash Hopes this helps (the way the light is distributed is better than the cheapo 'Japanse' flashes of the 1980s) Hope this helps.
