The official title is "Design Engineer/CAD Administrator".

That really means I design things, usually with SolidWorks 3D software, sometimes AutoCAD, and setup a bunch of other stuff the other designers and drafters use and do. I also handle requests about our ERP system. I also write VB programs. I also moonlight for others doing the SolidWorks thing, or programming. I also founded and am president of the state wide SolidWorks user group.

Wonder why I don't take many pictures?

Ahhhh the college lifestyle... although I do plan to shoot for the university newspaper, yearbook, a Productions studio (video work), my dorm's photo club that I help lead, and my own personal enjoyment.

I am a full time single mother of a special needs daughter (9 years old), I do freelance work for my local newspaper, I photograph riders at the Dressage Show here in the summer (4 shows a year) - purchase prints of their ride, and am hoping to learn how to market my photos to sell prints of them. I have done a couple of little photo shoots of a horse and owner, so maybe try to do more in the near future as well. I can't have a full time job outside my home due to my committments of taking care of my daughter. Before my daughter, I used to teach.

I would like to get into this too - I am currently saving up for a printer - the HP 8750 - which I hope will allow me to produce quality prints which I then can sell.

Michele & Neil,

If you want to just sell prints, maybe SmugMug would be good for you? If you get the Smugmug Pro account, you can post your pics in "galleries" and folks can buy them THROUGH Smugmug. Each Gallery can be public or private, and you can do your own CSS tagging to make your site pretty, ugly, different, etc. YOU set the price of each pic, or for the whole gallery. They also offer offer items besides a plethora of print sizes and paper types.

You will have your own "internet address" and if you have or get a "dedicated" one, Smugmug will allow you to link it to their site. So if you want to be "www . DressagePhotos . com", then when people go there, it is actually showing them your Smugmug site.

If you want to print images out, and take them to a show or whatever, then you can post them there, and order them yourself, and set the price to what Smugmug charges per print. They are pretty reasonable, with a 4x6 costing $0.29.

It isn't the best option in the world, but it is very convenient, and they do a great job on prints.

Better add Forum Helper to the list of things I do, in my spare time......
