ATM fee notices attacked | Bankrate.com

they are out to screw us again they are going to remove the clause so banks will not have to advise us of any changes in their fee's

You're taking it out of context. There are TWO notifications, as the article indicates. They are merely removing the requirement for on-machine printed notices, not the notification altogether. Since some people can't seem to play fair, removing the on-machine notice and then charging the ATM operator with non-compliance, I don't think this is really out of line. You'll still get the on-screen notification that allows you to continue or cancel the transaction.

Not to mention that if you haven't figured out that you're going to get ATM fees in certain situations, you've been living under a rock for the last 20 years.

Couple things I hate about ATM fees. 1) I get a fee on both ends of the transaction. 2) The amount of those fees. A transaction that costs a bank a few pennies costs me $5-6. But, I only use an atm if its a dire emergency. Even then, I try to run to walmart and get something I need. If Im going to spend a few bucks anyway, might as well spend it on something and not just handing it away.
