Here in the (un)free UK, unless there are signs to the contrary (only at one or two sites - mainly manned by the USAF !!), it is quite permissible to take photographs around military installations. Around nearly all military airfields you will find gatherings of spotters and photographers most days.

The only problems nowadays come from some so-called "security guards" who tend to be poorly trained and have little, or no understanding of the Law concerning photography. Civil/MoD Police and members of the Military are well briefed on what they can and cannot do.

There was some public discontent about the way that parts of the Terrorism Act (2000) were being used by some policemen - mainly when members of the public were photographing policemen doing things that they should not have been doing.
The Law has now been amended and all police forces instructed by the Home Office as to how this Act should be enforced: I think the press announcement below, from the Metropolitan Police (London), shows quite clearly that UK Law on this aspect of Photography is clear and "free".

You got to be kidding. Did you even read about all that happened? Clearly not. As far as warnings around an airport I can almost see what your getting at but this was a military post that she had been warned previously to stay away from. Keep the blinders on friend. It helps the world look better than it really is.

If you read the news you will see where fields are being plowed under and fruit is not being picked in CA, OR, WA and a number of other states because of lack of workers. I've seen it with my own eyes so I would say the news reports are true. As far as not being #1 in the world, that is not anything new at all. This country has been backsliding in almost everything except the military for many years. As far as offering a link, I think that any person who wants to be informed can, within a couple of min on the internet can find hundreds of sources. Read not just one but check one against another. The Congressional Budget office in another resource as well.

I brought this up only to make a point. The point being IF we were visited by aliens it would probably be much worse that the whites meeting the native americans because any race of beings that could cross the vast distances involved in traveling from star system to star system wouldn't be just a 100 years in advance of us but probably several thousands of years ahead of us. So the question is, Does might make right?. Many in this country have an ego problem and refuse to believe that anyone anywhere can do anything better than we can. Well they need to get over it so this country can move on and better its prospects in this new century.

Yep, which pretty much is the back bone of Manifest Destiny. Might makes Right, rather than Might for Right, a far more humane and understandable course of action.

In a matter of your own opinion as you can not back your claim with any fact!

I am serving my country as it is the country whom elected the current government both state and federal. Those whom feel otherwise are confused!

I serve proudly and can separate my personal opinions/ views from the job in which I have been assigned to do. I may not agree sometimes but I know I do not have all the information that goes into making the decisions in our senior government.

Seems like these days everyone who watches FOX, CNN, MSNBC, or any news channel are all experts in what ever topic they choose. The news is not factual these days, they are prostitutes to what ever sells readers, viewers, and ratings!

Finally RV, we agree on something. My country elected my president and my government. I may disagree and may work my ass off to get them defeated in an election but I can not nor will I ever agree with ScubaDude. I served in the military to protect my government, not to call for an overthrow.

At last something we can agree on. ScubaDude, like many others, doesn't realize "The Government" is him and everyone else in the country that vote. If you don't like the way the country is run, get out and vote. Try to change the minds of people who do not agree with you. Normally only about 50% or less of the people vote yet they complain about "The Government".

To call for the overthrow of the government means you must have some idea of what to replace it with. Terrorists are usually those people that disagree with the 99% and think by blowing a few things up they can get their way.

I don't watch TV news. The FACT is that this country's sovereignty hasn't been challenged since the War of 1812. The FACT is that we prop up half the dictators on the planet, and have killed, directly or by proxy, more innocent people than the Nazis. Defending this country and defending the empire are two completely different things.
