Got this image. Shot in RAW, but converted to jpg. This seems to happen once in a while with this camera.

The multicolor horizontal bars in the lower portion.

D700

This may be my best reason to purchase a D750, but I really love this camera.

Do they look this way on the camera's LCD?
Have you tried a different CF card?

I would also suspect a bad card. How did you move the image from the card to your computer?

I move the images via a card reader.
Card has been formatted and recorded over. Will take note next time to see if it shows in the LCD as corrupted. May even try to recover it, and see if I could get a decent one that way. Not a huge problem, as the corrupted image was not critical.

Looks like incomplete writing of the JPEG image, Ive seen this before when using an older version of Image Majic, which is not relevant to the post but demonstrates the similarities.

If the RAW image always comes up with proper color, I myself would lean toward it being a software problem, however other possibilities cannot be ruled out.

Please tell us more: What type of memory card are you running (brand and class?) and what software are you running?

Off the top of my head, and in no particular order, I think the possibilities may be:
Memory card
Software doing the change to JPEG
Hard drive in the computer
Camera writing to the memory card

The trick to finding the problem, is to find what is not the problem and narrow down in such a way.

As a side note, I have been using DCRAW command line program in a script to manipulate my D5300's NEF files to JPEG and so far it has been totally flawless. I would try this first, since it is easy and free to try, then attack the problem with other tools and experiments.

Let me/us know if you need help with DCRAW.

Andrew

Is there a relationship between the multicolor horizontal bars in the lower portion and the copyright symbol, your name, and year that is displayed in the lower portion?

Narsuitus- No relationship. When I used Lightroom to export the image for website, I have a preset that adds the copyright information.

Could it be a shutter problem? Was this a flash shot?
