i was gonna put this in computers but just wanna check here, has anyone has corruption issues with their d50/70? the reason im asking is i have just possible lost a whole shoot and i don't think its card error(sandisk ultra 2 are pretty reliable) i have the first 30 images but the rest are corrupted garble with crazy extentions and names? and on a side note, any free recovery software to reccommend.I'm running pc inspector smart recovery now, see how it goes...

Hi Tom,

I know both Lexar and Sandisk both comes with free recovery software. Let me know if you need a copy ... i will try to e-mail them to you.

Apprently the ERR issue on the D70 seems to be due to camera rather than the card ... IF you are getting a lot of these issues, better check the READ/WRITE unit on the camera ... that may be the one causing loss of data.

Sandisk only packages the recovery software with their Extreme III series.* If you're using Ultra II, you're out of luck. It isn't included on the card; not sure what downloadable options you get on the site.

I have not had corruption problems on my D70.* Are you formatting the card everytime you reinsert it?

Also, check the pins on your camera's cardslot to make sure they're all straight.

I don't know if someone else has asked this, but do you format your card regularly? My teacher told me if you don't format a card when you first get it, and regularly it could eventually came back and bite you in the butt.
