Check the foam bumper in the mirror box. It may be decomposed and sticky.

Only a couple things we can suggest. Anything else would need to be viewed by a tech.

What is the shutter speed set to? And as Blu mentioned, is the cushion thats used to protect the mirror decomposed and sticky? It may be sticking to the roof of the camera. If thats not the case, it may be something mechanical and more in depth.

Remove the lens and fire the shutter. You can quickly determine if the mirror is sticking to the foam bumper (it need not look decomposed to become sticky). If the mirror is not stuck to the foam but is still in the raised position, gently try to lower the mirror with your finger or a soft implement. If you encounter any friction, STOP. You have some mechanical problem which needs the attention of a technician. Lastly, if the mirror always returns without problem when no lens is attached, it may be hitting the back of the lens mount. This can occur when the mirror moves forward on its support (it is usually glued to a metal support flap). This is easily repaired.
