Life is busy!

I post here some and read some, and I noticed all the other forums seem to get more play than the Nikon one, that is all.

The strap was just a simple way of saying Nikon Camera, not so much concern about the strap in and of itself.

However I would also proudly wear a 90 year Nikon strap!

I guess I was just wondering what forums inside here most of the Nikon people frequent when they are not on the Nikon forum?

The response I got were a little testy from some of you, but no matter, people on the net tend to think all other people have thin skin that needs to be removed.

I tend to think everyone is my friend and I can speak openly to them with my back turned without fear of being attacked. Most of the time, I come and go keeping most of my skin intact. lol

The people in charge of this place are good people. Art, Kev. Kev should be made part owner, he is wonderful!

I also like Art's dog, also good people.

I agree. If photography was just about the CAMERA the boy with the most expensive toy would win...
Fact is that composition, lighting, telling a story etc. are far more important than the gear. Some of the world's best shots came from very simple cameras.

Rereading the posts, I am not sure playing in here is any safer than playing on railroad tracks.

I tried to answer several of them directly, one gal called me a snob, and then went on to call me a stupid snob. It must be noted she proclaims herself a single mother. Really?

I want to get along with everyone, but as that may not be possible, I will just wonder back off.

This is one of those threads that needs to mysteriously disappear as it makes the posters look bad. Sorry my post was misunderstood by so many. My fault.

I spent four hours yesterday doing a food shoot in the studio of fried chicken, pork chops and fried catfish for a seasoned flour company's packaging. No camera strap involved but I was using a Nikon D3X with a 105mm Nikkor macro lens, shooting tethered to an IMac using Nikon Control Pro and Photo Shop Bridge.

The studio smelled like a fried chicken joint. Still does today!

I poke around here and there. I check the Nikon forum, and if theres a question I can answer, ill try. If not, I might not post anything. I actually dont look in the other camera sections. Not to be snobish, but I feel I would have no input to give there. I havent shot much lately, so I havent been in many of the sections as of late.

It's fairly obvious from your signature that you're a gear collector. That's fine but this board really isn't into that part of photography. The Critique/Genre section of PC probably gets thousands of posts to every one or two in the equipment sections. We're just not into who is shooting what. We don't care.

Seriously. Until I saw Douglas' post, I never recalled that he shot Nikon. Didn't really care. Still don't.

I shoot Canon. Nobody really cares from what I've seen.

I think people understood your post Gary. Its just that FanBoy posts collect alot of flak. And also their are the usual habitual posters that just have to get their smart a$$ answers in (you probably know them by now). Might even be a bit of jelousy about the equipment you own. I too am partial to Nikon, but not because its "the camera to own" more that I just haven't had many problems using them. Anyway, if you feel that way about Nikon...I've got no problem with that. Best to you, Ray
