The thing is that the flash can only fire off every so often. You can't fire as many times a second with the flash on as without it, it's just not possible. To see how often you can fire with it on, set the camera to continuous mode, manual focus and a reasonably high shutter speed. That way you can see it for yourself.

right ! it needs to charge after every flash only pro (studio) flashguns are faster but then it all comes up to the sync speed faster than that will not be possible..

with the D60 it is according to Ken rockwell:
Maximum Shutter Speed with Flash (Sync Speed): Only 1/200.

that is thus the fastest speed
