OH MAN! I was just out bid on a CPL on ebay, my bid was something like $5.00 the winner got it for around $8.00.
Right after I placed the bid I was wishing I hadn't done it but then I figured someone would out bid me and sure enough someone did. ![]() LOLBut I did buy a "multicoated CPL" for about $16.00, I thought it was worth a shot just to see what I get for that price. It should be here from China in about two weeks. __________________

Let us know how it goes. I'd like to have a 77mm CPL for my 80-200, but a good one's enough to put a big dent in my budget. While I wouldn't expect a cheapo chinese filter to be a winner, if it would hold me over until I run out of more important things to buy, I'd do it.

I got a Chinese one and find it seems perfect. I also got a set of ND's from teh same vendor. Again, I can't tell any difference from the name brand.
I'd be surprised if the name brands WEREN'T these but branded & then slipped through many hands until the price is $150 for the CP. I mean, if b&w orders some from China, the Chinese factory only gets maybe $8 for the filter but we pay $150 by the time it gets through two hands to B&H & then to us with B&H taking the double keystone they do. So why not just source directly from China? I bought a macro focusing rail which looks 100% identical to the one that B&H sells for maybe $150. I paid $35. |
