There are lots of reasons I really love using the Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 but it's a great lens for images like this. The top of the building does curve inward so that's not distortion... it's reality.
Here's a shot of the Bank Atlantic Center Building where the Florida Panthers play. We did a shoot there for some promotional materials, presentations and brochures. Trying to shrink the file to something that works for display here so I hope not too much is lost in the "shrinkage". Julio Home __________________

From the reflections in the front of the building and the nicely lit foreground, it looks like you had some serious lights a few feet up in the air there to either side of the camera.

The front of the lens doesn't extend as far out as say the Sigma 12-24 but yes, there is risk of damage to the front element but it's a superb lens. This lens is on par with whatever wide prime you want to put it up against in my opinion. When I blow this shot up, everything is sharp and clear all the way down to fine detail.
