On the D70, you can use the ML-3 infared remote to turn the bulb setting into something similar to the "T" mode found on the F3, which allowed the shutter to stay open with one actuation of the release. I believe the shutter was then closed by turning the shutter speed dial once. With the ML-3 remote, Bulb will open the shutter on the first press of the button, and close the shutter with the second press. I'm not sure if the D50 will do the same thing, but I'd assume that it will, as the IR function should be the same, minus the fact that the sensor was moved to the other side of the camera body.

You need your finger on it unless you have the IR remote for the camera.* You can squeeze the remote once, put it down, and come back when time's up to close the shutter with a second squeeze.

EDIT: I just read my first post, and realized that it doesn't really make a lot of sense. Sorry about that- it made sense to me when I typed it, LOL=)
