D90 already released?

Thought it took awhile for these things to reach stores after being announced? It was in a local best buy as of friday night. Including the 18-105 VR that hasnt even been announced yet. They are selling it for $1299 for the combo.

I couldnt play with it as it was giving an R21 error. It had power and a card, but the camera wasnt working. Not even the menu.

Missed that announcement.

My neice works there. She tried plugging in other places as well as using the battery, and kept getting the error. When they first opened it, it did work. But it stopped after awhile. Its on, but wont focus or pull up the menu. She wasnt allowed to open another box to use that as the display one.

Gonna have to see what the B&H/Adorama prices are for this, if BB has it for the msrp.

I'd wait on a D90 until all the bugs are worked out. I felt like a beta tester on the D70. My D200 is great no problems but I waited a while before I bought it. The D90 does sound interesting though.

They figured out what was wrong. The bracket they had the camera body in was too thin. So it was contacting one of the buttons. The bracket is there so no one can take the lens off. Its an "in between" size. Ones used for the D40/60/80 are just a bit too small, but the ones for D300 are too big. So the body is a bit wider (or at least this button is a bit taller) then other bodies.
