Nikon Repair: Cheap! Sort of.

A long time aago I bashed the filter ring on my 18-200VR lens, and I've just now gotten around to sending it in for repair. I was expecting the worst, as I'd heard horror stories about the cost of Nikon repairs, but the cost of the ring was a mere $26.50 AUD!

It's easy to remove, I've done it before - five screws under a little sticky ring. Takes about 60 seconds to swap the old one for a new one.

The labour to replace this ring: $75.

Man, I wish I was a Nikon repairman. $75 per minute is damned good pay.
