Cool NEW - Nikon 70-200mm Vr
Well my nikon 70-200mm VR arrived this morning three days from b&h new york to ireland and guess what i got stung for €360 euro duty on the doorstep!!!!!!!!!!!1
damn it better be good!!!!!!!!!!

Uh...not in BC....I paid a sizable amount of duty on any purchase I have made from B&H. I have been shopping Vistek recently for that very reason...and the dollar at par.

It's not duty you are paying. B&H ships by UPS. UPS charges an obscene amount of Brokerage fees to clear the shipment into Canada through customs. Canada Post charges $ 5.00 to do the paperwork. Ups is at least $ 25.00 to do the same. Their brokerage fees increase with shipment value.
There is no duty to Canada from the states on Photogaphic equipment. You pay only the brokerage fee and GST and PST. And you pay the taxes on the shipping and the brokerage as well. I try and only use the post office for shipping.

On a recent $4500 dollar order from B&H UPS wanted more than $400.00 when it arrived....I will no longer order from the US. Vistek carries the same products. Free Shipping.
