I'll install this later tonight. Thanks for posting it. But did you notice something about some of the info?
Did you note a reference to a 24.4 megapixel D3X in the firmware? 6048 X 4032 24.4 M and NCD3X? The following strings are in the D3's B-firmware file v1.10 6048x4032 24.4 M 4544x3024 13.7 M 3024x2016 6.1 M 5056x4032 20.4 M 3792x3024 11.5 M 2528x2016 5.1 M 3968x2640 10.5 M 2976x1976 5.9 M 1984x1320 2.6 M D3X Wouldn't you venture from the file that there are some 24.4 megapixel D3's out there being tested? Wonder when those will be announced and released. Later this year perhaps? Julio |

Installed the new firmware, no issues.
re: d3x ... there is rumor that Nikon might try to have it out before the Olympics. In fact, there is rumor that Nikon is already using pre-production D3x's (sensor and guts) in the D3 body. I cannot lend credence to those rumors... just propagate them. ![]() |

Well, I would imagine that they would stuff the sensors into the D3 body so as to not give away who is shooting with the test models. I doubt they'd put a big D3X brand on the front.
![]() Of course, we can probably guess who IS shooting with the test models. Makes sense though. |

Interesting D3-related comments on the 70-200, which eventually ties into the firmware update: SportsShooter.com - Nikon 70-200mm Legend not so Hot?
Thom has some comments on the firmware update up front on his website right now too. And more on DPReview. ----- I'm still waiting for my prosumer-type FX body compatible with the MB-D10 vertical grip or similar. D350 anyone? I'll sacrifice the pop-up flash.... ...also, when's the D300 Auto-ISO function going to get updated? |

So you agree with me now on the pop up flash? LOL
I am about to do the firmware update now that I'm back home. Long day today and I really didn't want to think about it before I got through today. Dropped off the images from Thursday night. Still have to work on the images from Saturday... Firmware update going to go... ![]() Julio ----added----- Firmware updated to v1.10 I'll have to see what they are talking about on the 70-200 VR and take a few pictures with it on the D3. Would this mean, however, that the 70-200 f/2.8 VR will be getting an update sometime soon? 'tis due. Julio |

G and ED?
![]() I'd bet it'd be introduced with the D3X. Nikon always introduces some new lenses with each new body. Julio |

Rob Galbraith DPI: Nikon D3 v1.10 firmware appears to cause photo corruption problem
It seems the new firmware update can cause some photo corruption problems. I hope they fix this before they release any new D300 firmware updates. |

I saw that report. I haven't tried to reproduce the problem on my D3, but it seems more like a writing or memory card issue more so than anything else.
Of course I haven't tried any high speed sequences a la machine gun shutter release. I'm going to try to make it happen on mine tonight and if I can make it happen I'll post the results. I'm using Sandisk Extreme III 12 Gig cards. Others are suggesting it's a UDMA issue, but all we know is that we're all wondering what causes it and that we just don't know. Julio |

Can you imagine the pressure the Nikon engineers are under from management and marketing! Canon has one big collective smile going right now!
