I was out shooting the moon with my D80 w/MB-D80 and Nikkor 500 Ai-P and had a few good shots. So I decided to shoot a few with film, well my N65 had some color film loaded so I used some of the better setting from my D80 shots and fired off a few. When I looked at my tiny N65 on this lens it made me laugh so I had to take a picture of it.
First the moon shot: D80, 500 Nikkor f4 Ai-P. Shooting data for the moon shot: f5, 1/500 tripod mounted using cable release. Next the Silly N65 shot not the best shot but it gets the point across! ![]() __________________

Is that a 500 f/5 or 500 f/4?
That's a long lens no matter how you slice it. Nice shot of the moon. Need to work on it though... I want to see the lunar rover in the next one.. ![]() Julio |

HEHE I'm looking to get a film in the near future for taking a class. Do your D80 lenses pretty much all work with it?

Yes and no. The DX lens do not(they are designed for smaller AP-S size sensor) they will viginette on the film camera. But all my AF-D AF-G and AF(non DX type) lens will fully work with both. That big lens will meter with all my cameras but it is manual focus lens. If you want PM me your lens and I can tell you if they will work or not.

Even as a manual focus lens, I would consider getting a nice 500 f/4 if it were in good condition and the right price. Those are excellent lenses. For that matter, a nice 600 f/4 or 800 f/5.6 wouldn't be bad if you can find a decent used copy.
