Default Another hooray for Nikon and supporting their old glass.

just added another lens to the arsenal.
135mm(200mm Eqv) f2.8 manual prime.
I spotted this in the used section while replacing another tripod .
What a steal compared to buying a 200mm vr 2.8 which i've been looking at.
The exposure reading works well with my d300 wich is nice it would be better with AF but hey some times old school rules..

Hello there,

congrats on the purchase. The 2,8 135 is an excellent lens! Sharp even open or one stop down. I have two of those. One is the Nikkor Q and the other one is AIS version. My AIS version exhibits a bit more colour fringes on the D200 than the Q. The Q can also be used for self defense purposes

BTW the old 4,0 200 is another fine lens. Sharp fully open, light and small. Colour fringes get a bit worse here, as it is not APO. In the longer manual focus range the Voigtlaender 4,0 180 APO Lanthar is practically free of fringes and produces really pretty results.

Cheers, Sean.

Hi thanks for the info.
I have the Q and you're right she is a heavy lens but thats what I like about it.
I noticed some fringing below 5.6 but it good at 8 so it may be a good sudo macro lens with a tube .
