Default SB-800 Manual in PDF

I bought a Speedlight SB-800 yesterday. If you think the manual is opaque, you want to try reading it in German!

Normally it's no big deal because Nikon publish all their manuals online... excepting that their server is "experiencing problems" and is "unavailable" at the moment.

Ignore, please. Have located the manual on the Nikon USA site.

Good luck! When I read my manual I get dizzy!

Thanks guys.

Bonner, you're right. There's another thread in this forum about third party Speedlight manuals. I think I'll be buying one.

The SB-800 is quite a monster, isn't it. It was okay until I put batteries in it...

Try...

Put the SB-800 in TTL mode, choose spot-metering (which will disable "TTL BL"). Dial in -2/3 to -1 compensation for people, and -1 2/3 to -2 for things, make sure the spot you're metering from is over the subject exposed by flash, and then fire away.

Thank you! That's certainly simple. I'll have a play - sounds really straightforward.
