That's still pretty vague. What software did you have on the cd's that were destroyed? What programs are you trying to replace?

Download them directly off the Nikon website. The latest version of CaptureNX is way better than the version shipped with the camera.

Why not spend 10 bucks on a card reader instead of trying to download images directly from the camera? It will be quicker by a factor of about a year.

thanks for the advise. Is there any other software better than CaptureNX ?
I might opt for the card reader as you suggested.

I have both CaptureNX and Adobe Photoshop CS3. While I was waiting for CS3 to arrive I bought the licence to CaptureNX. The new version downloaded immediately and I was really impressed. I got quite attached to it. It's a different sort of program to CS3 and I really like it. Had I not already paid for CS3 I would have stuck with it.

I think a lot of folks like Photoshop Elements as well. It has most of the stuff in CS3 but is easier to learn and use. My only criticism of CaptureNX is the poor online technical manual. I really do need to buy a book to get the best out of it.
