DOF just a bit shallow but otherwise a good shot with great detail and texture. The bokeh is really good.

Cheers/Mike

Gotta love that lens. I picked mine up last year off ebay for $150. It very rarely comes off my camera.

I also have a Nikkor 50 1.4, I am always using it. I love the perspective, especially when I get that D3 :P

Yesterday I did something I swore I'd never do. Get a 50 for a DX body. I was in a quandary. I do some theater and dance and you can't muck around too much during a performance. I was using my 85 1.4 but the focal length was a bear. I could shoot across stage but seldom can I get far enough back to shoot straight on easily.

I had to pick a few things I ordered from my camera shop and was talking to Hal about it. I have another recital to do and wanted something to work a bit better in the F/L.
He pulled a 50 1.4 AIS out a told me to try it out. So today I've been practicing the old ways again. Pre-focus and using DOF. The metering is pretty good, just a few adjustments needed. It's a sharp little bugger but looks funny on the D1X.

35 f/2 is another really nice one... just in case the 50mm is too long for a full stage shot.

Mine arrives Monday. Hey guys...it is my first D lens and I have a D80/D70. Do I set the aperature and then shoot in aperature priority? Jim P.S. Looking for a len hood.
