I need urgent inputs from all of you who have any opinions from having used any of the above lenses...if you have used both, comparisons would be really helpful.
I have a Nikon D90 and I love it. This UWA is for a long awaited trip where I'll get to shoot a lot of landscapes. I got a spanking new Tamron 10-24 but now I'm worried about it, it seemed quite soft when I shot with it at 10 mm wide open inside the shop. I have 24 hours to return it and get a refund... I will shoot with it tomorrow (its midnight now) and get a feel, but I still need inputs coz I haven't tried the Tokina... Please help.... __________________

I have the Tokina 116 Pro and it's the best lenses in my bag. Fast, tack-sharp, their glass is made by Hoya. That should tell you something about the quality. I don't know about the Tamron but IMO you can't be the the Tokina. They were offering a $40 mail in rebate. Read Ken Rockwell's review:

No. The lens is sharp across the range. No soft spots. You cannot go wrong. I reseached the lens for some time before I bought it and it came out on top time and time again.

Have not had a CA isssue. This is my experience. Never heard of any issues from anyone I know that has the lens. Do your research and come to your conclusions...

plus that the tokina is a F2.8 constant lens and the tamron is a variable lens
constant aperture glass is 9 out of 10 better because strickter building demands I have tamron glass but if i had to buy a lens now it would be the tokina |

I returned the tamron. Now I can start all over again. Between the T3.5-4okina 11-16/2.8 and Sigma 8-16/3.5-4.5, which one would you pick? Only considering all the options now that I can start on a clean slate... This is going to be a very tough purchase indeed
