I had a D-800 on order from Amazon, and I wasn't getting any updates on delivery dates ( plus the rumors about open boxes being delivered etc).
I was on another forum and a guy recommended Murphy's Camera. Ask for a guy name Don. Muphy'sCamera has 3 locations in Kentucky. I called and got Don and he said if I had called 1 hour earlier I would have one on its way. He took my name and phone number. He called me back in about 2 hours, and I now have one being sent to me. If you guys are waiting on a D-800 or D800E call him. Great guy to talk to. I am now sending all of my business away from B&H and Amazon and to him. No tax for out of state sales, and free shipping. Oh yea, I cancelled my Amazon order! __________________

Now are you positive that the 2 hours delay was not for the UPS truck to bring back a D800 someone else just decided not to keep?
You know if one place does it, then how can you KNOW that every other place does not do the same thing. |

Your position for other dealers is that they have to prove a negative...that they do not resell open box cameras. Why is it that Don is not required to do the same? BTW, it is impossible, generally, to prove a negative. Don can not provide you with any more assurance than Amazon that he does not resell open box items, as new. You need to think about this long and hard before you pick that box up and remember that your new camera most likely is one that was reopened, after it departed the factory, to have it's battery inspected for the battery recall. The person that performed that task could have touched the camera!!!!! |

Royce, I never said they don't sell reopened boxes. That is a assumption you made and you know what happens when you make an assumption.
It is a camera. You are making way to much of it. There are many people who have provided good recommendations to Murphy's Camera. If you want a D-800 for a good reputable dealer then call them else find something else to get all huffy about. |
