That is one of the new prerequisites to owning a D4, one must pass a test that proves you know how to set up an FTP server, a web server and kiss the almighty blarney stone of Apple... LOL

(BTW, there surprisingly *IS* some Apple code in that D4... LOL!)

Am I the only person here on the camel with a D4? That can't be, can it??

Anyways, I went to play after work today in one of my favorite places, St Joseph's Oratory to give my D4 a high ISO workout. I've so far just transferred the files to the hard drive, imported them into LR4 and took a quick look, and the little that I saw was really impressive... but I'll finally get a better feel tomorrow once I see how well the files process.

If I wasn't so tired and brain dead from a 14 hour day, I'd be looking now, but as it stands, I'll post the results and some pics tomorrow.

Going just by the LCD, ISO 12,800 is not even going to make the camera break a sweat!

You should feel special. I think I have the only D800E in my town, and I have to struggle mightily to not let that go to my head.

My dad decided he wanted one, so if anything I'll have some hands-on with one eventually. None of the folks I assist have D4 cameras, and I sure as hell don't need one of my own at the moment.

Not saying I don't need to shoot with one, only that I don't need to own one.

The D4 and "ultra-high ISO"... how good is good.

The Jerry Blog!: D4 and Ultra High ISO?

Enjoy!

Ok, since I am the only one posting here, I may as well post something... lol

From my last little afternoon playing with the D4:

ISO 50, shooting through thick safety glass, hence the green hue, which is cool, but normally when shooting into the sun, the subject is a silhouette, which the original photo looked, but I shot in RAW and pulled out a crapload of detail, concentrating mostly on her jeans. I call this shot "Deep in Thought". Feet and arms crossed, she did not change position for at least 15 minutes... she had to be thinking really hard.

ISO 6400 using the 20mm Sigma F/1.8 lens at F/2. I've done this shot many times over the last couple years, and I see lots more detail here than in any previous shots using the D200 and D700. The added dynamic range is really visible, even at these small sizes!:

ISO 12,800, 135mm F/2:

I've been commissioned to shoot a heavy metal band in a really dark club this Friday, so I'll have some ultra-high ISO shots to show next week and this Saturday, I shoot an event where I will do lots of portraits in a more controlled setting, so I'll show a couple of those too.
