I have a quantaray 28-200 3.5-5.6 and I think it's a sigma under the hood (made for Ritz Cameras). It's not always razor sharp and I have seen some purple fringing but overall I like the look of the pictures I get from it (nice blurring) and I like the overall handling and ergonomics. 28-200 is a nice walkabout range if you don't need to go really wide or really long. These days, though, I'm tending to use my Nikon 24-120 VR lens more often. The more experienced I get the more I appreciate fast lenses (low F) and/or vibration reduction and/or close focusing.
