Default Use of Teleconverter with the 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX VR II

Can you use a teleconverter with the new 18-200? If so which one?

No, the rear element of the 18-200mm will smash into the foremost elemeent of the teleconverter. Considering that the lens is a 5.6 at the long end, I can't imagine wanting to slow that down even more...

Welcome to the Camel!

Not only that, but even a 1/4x teleconverter will slow your lens down to f/8 - too dim for the autofocus to work. You would have to focus the lens manually.

There is also the question of what the image quality would be like with such a combination. Teleconverters and cheap lenses or lenses with long zoom ratios don't usually work well together.
