IMHO, I am no fan of the 24-120 VR. I'd leave that lens on a shelf if it were offered as a free gift.

I don't know if I was too vague on my feelings about that lens.

I have the 24-120, which I got with the D200 when I returned to photography after a "sebatical" ... anyhow, I like the lens, until I picked up a second hand 28-70/2.8 for around the same price. Then it was relegated into the bag for many months however recently I have been shooting using different styles rather than looking for a slight DOF and it has never failed me. It is light enough and for me the IQ is good (except on the corners at 24mm at f3.5. Then it has some vignetting.
Just my 2c.

IF you have Lightroom, you might check out the "Develop mode" and Vignetting Lens correction menu at the bottom. There are two settings you might be able to use for correction with that lens.

Thanks, yes, I absolutely love lightroom for all of it's capabilities... and as much as I know, I still learn little tidbits now and again to reinforce just how good it is
