Adobe Camera Raw and Capture NX(2) take two totally different approachs to raw processing... ACR aka Adobe Camera Raw starts from a neutral image and allows you to build on it as you see fit. Which can include adding Camera Calibration settings to mimic various Nikon Camera setting and the primary sliders that allow you optimum flexibility or you can build your own presets. Whereas Nikon allows you to build on or subtract from your actual camera settings.

See above (ACR irregardless of raw format only displays a neutral image).

Also you can not change or effect a raw file directly you can only manipulate a virtual representation of it in a raw editor.
