Default Firmware update for D200 coming
Will there be a firmware update for D200 cameras to adopt the functions that are incorporated in D2Xs?

Yes. Nikon plans to offer a firmware update for the D200, however it will only adopt the D2Xs "Image authentication" option in the setup menu. Support for the optional Wireless Transmitter WT-3 will also be included in the firmware update.

This is from Nikon UK support area.

Note- the response from Nikon indicates that the wireless transmitter and image authentication features will be incorporated into the firmware update, but I wonder what else might be included...

I understood that the upgrade will be only the authentication thing and the wireles thing.
Both won´t keep me out of my sleep.
Do you have any indication there will be more to this firmware update?

Indeed, welcome to the Camel.

If there is more to it, Nikon and everyone else is being pretty tight-lipped about it. Anyone who knows, just isn't talking about it yet.

According to Nikon Digital Tech Support, updates coming Fall 06. But, it seems they're being their normal selves. The D2H is NOT included in the planned updates. What about all us D2H users who still like our cameras? Are we just left to pound sand? Apparently.

Sadly, I think we've been pounding sand since the D2Hs came out... I was surprised that we even got the fix for the 18-200 VR. Nikon wants us to buy new cameras, LOL
