Thanks Zhayed for the honest feedback. I dropped the exposure by 50% in my RAW editor. I will correct and repost later to see if you think it is better

Nice shot - and on the question of exposure, I'd go with the first pic because the subject appears to be spot on.
You need a long lens for that kinda stuff! (Or, maybe long legs!!).

That gator is basking in the sun, as gators do. Imo, the edit reflects that better than the first image does.
