No not the type in aquariums as you may think, but wild ponies around the estuary just standing in the sea when the tide comes in.
Why?, well i cannot figure this out, its probably something they are use to, and they know its just a matter of time before the water recedes. I only wish i could have had a larger lens, or get closer to the action. C+C welcomed Best regards Paul ![]() __________________

A very big thanks for your reply.
It is also a first for me, i have never seen anything like this before and was amazed and intrigued at what i was seeing. If i ever see this happen again, i want to try and get closer for a better shot, but what the chances of this happening is i don't know, maybe just the luck of the draw!. Best regards Paul |

Thank you Francis.
Its a sight i have never seen before, and cannot explain why they do this, but they must know how far the tide comes in or they would move. I am of down the same place tomorrow, and i will see if it happens again. Best regards Paul |

A very interesting scene with the contrast between the industrial background & the calm bay with the horses as added interest. I find the bushes on either side very distracting & if you could get above or behind them the shot would be greatly improved.

Thanks Hobbes for your comments, and advice.
Now the highest i can get above this height is around four feet, but then this may make all the difference. I have managed to get closer to the ponies, but as yet not at high tide which is what i would really like to do. Its to dangerous for me to go out on the estuary, so i have to take my chances from the safety of the bank, and either wait until they come in closer, or get a larger lens.
