These guys are very important to Florida's Sandhill and Scrub Habitats. They tunnel deep underground and their old homes become home to many other Florida animal species such as the Indigo Snake, Florida Mouse, as well as many other endangered species. Their burrows also provide safety during Florida's wildfires. Here he is.

Thanks Shortie, DC2. These were actually taken on my way home. He just happen to be on the side of the road. Good thing there was nobody behind me. Hey DC2, I finally took the truck back in for the car-wash I tried to get while you were here and the pigeon was still there.*

It was funny still seeing it there. I shot through the windshield. Not the best with a dirty window. But I thought you'd get a kick out if it.

They are about 12 inches long as an adult. Not sure what kind of plate that is. They can weight up to 9 pounds or so. This guy was definitely on the big end of the scale. These guys burrow up to 30 feet underground.
