Well done, getting the highlights on his face to contrast with the shadowed rock. I like the texture of his coat, and his expression. Makes me wonder what he's checking out.

Good capture, nicely posed, and a great expression. Great job taking the photo with him to the right of center and leaving space to the left for him to look into.

That is something you definitely don't see everyday! The range maps show them in my region but no one has recorded a sighting in like, 20 years.
Very cool, is that one in the wild?

Thanks for the look Chip, they are wild. A customer of mine told me that they where going to a pond locally and I did get lucky. It was a pond at a golf course. They enter the pond right out of the wood line. There was 2 but I only was able to get the one. I see them a bit on the ice in the winter but I can never get close enough, and they go right back into the water

I used only the 300mm, I was less obvious that way then with the six I had that gear in my truck with me but not the 600mm and I did not want to miss the opp. Russell the pond is narrow and I only got the shot because he/she was very interested in something other then me. Like I said there was 2 but no luck with the other. I will try again with the 600mm so I can be farther away. I was too close and the shutter sound spooked them. I cropped this shot about 25%. Hopefully I will get another chance
