This is a cornsnake (Pantherophis guttatus). The ones you see in the background that are still almost hidden in their eggshells are of the same species, but they are albinos - hence the different colour. I'm not the breeder of those snakes, a friend of mine breeds them and he gave me a call when he noticed that the little ones started coming out of their eggs.

This is one of the little one's parents, shot on the same day. Comments and critique appreciated as well

No I'm not shooting them through glass - cornsnakes are nonpoisonous. It might jump at the camera every now and then, which can be distracting

but once you get used to it, you can react to that and even try to get some nice shots in between

A fun experience, that's for sure.
