Very very pretty. Just to be different, I think I prefer the warmer white balance in the second shot - the greens especially look better, though the flower itself has a nicer contrast in the first shot.

Michele I liked the second best also. Michele I tried removing one of the duplicates in the process both where removed, sorry. Could you please re post the picture. I am not sure why it posted 2 and deleted 2, a bit strange. The daylight wb worked well here.

Paul... I like the flower tones in the first one, but the greens look so much better in the second one. Is there a way to combine the two and have the flower as the first and the greens as the second
DC2: I leave my camera set to Auto since I change the white balance in RAW software. Does it really matter or make a difference if you have it at Auto or Daylight or? Thank you Rob for your comment... ![]() |

Good sport Michelle (cue Simpsons theme tune) - You know, I think we've learned a valuable lesson today, and that is that we should not interfere in the moderation and maintenance of forums that we are not responsible for :-[.
Anyway, moving on... We agree on the qualities of the two shots. I guess you could create a layer in PS so that one layer is pic 1 and other is pic 2. You could then mask out the flower and using the opacity slider bring in the colour of the other shot. That should work. As for white balance. There's quite an active thread elsewhere on the forum regarding this. My way of working is to leave it in Auto, and shoot RAW. In fact the first shot is very similar to what I see when I use 'auto-levels' in PS - it tends to over-do the greens but helps a lot on the highlights. |

Thank you Paul.. In regards to masking, I have never been able to really figure out just how to use masking.* I have tried it several times, but no success .* |

Masking is well worth playing with Michele . Open a pic and press Q now paint anything in the pic press Q again . This is the very basic beginnings of masking
