Default Damselfly color is this a true color(ID HELP)

Getting to my spot to do macro work I grabbed this one with a 1:2 300mm and new the focus was off ..
This morning I was deleting these images and the color caught my attention PURPLE?
did my camera render this wrong because I've never seen this color before.
Only processing was a quick sharpen and contrast for web viewing and jgp conversion.

If this is the right color did i find something special ?

I once shot a photo of a blue sparrow, which simply doesn't exist. I eventually figured out that it was at sunset in the shade and that caused the grey bird to turn blue. I later saw a chipping sparrow at sunset exhibit the same charactoristics except he was moving in and out of the shade and changing from grey to green right before my eyes.
