Default Just Fun Snapshots

The image is *fun* now, but at the time I can assure you the scent of fear was ferociously being excreted from every pore in my body! I have a whole series of them. And no, I was not the slightest bit worried about my settings. I was just snapping away in hopes someone would be able to see why I was laying there trampled and bleeding.

This bison started a good distance away from me, and got to about 10-15 feet away.

He then turned, looking away from me. When he turned back to me I heard a thunderous sound coming from where he was looking.

Hey 'EH',

Welcome to the board! I assume these were not taken at your listed location 'Mid-Atlantic, East Coast'... where were they taken?

Hi Stacey!

Oh no... these were taken down the street from me! After surviving that encounter, my husband laughed horribly at me as he explained some locals are bison breeders. Since then I've found one other farmer with bison.

Well I live about 19 miles outside of Theodore Roosevelt National Park and am quite familiar with how wild buffalo are. So if you had some of these big boys bearing down on you... you deserve some KUDOS!

I could not imagine living near real, authentic wild ones. These "tame boys" (as dh says they are) were scary enough!

Amazing a city girl was willing to even get out the car huh dc2?

Great shots, the snow really sets them off.
Buffalo can be challenging to shoot, especially if they are in a bad mood. We have small heards that roam on a range that covers about 14 thousand acres. Nothing compared to what Dacoda Image gets to experience.
Here are soem shots this spring right before they started calving, you cannot get within miles of them once they start calving, and there are no fences to hide behind, besides, buffalo will go through a fence just to get to greener grass. Best to keep a vehicle between you and them and a door open just in case.

Great images on your link Mr. Mikey!

Yes, the snow really did set them off. It was a freak April storm that came out of nowhere. I spent the morning out shooting while everyone continued to sleep.
