Default Mixed Wildflowers2

This plant is called an Indian Paintbrush. It was one of the most vibrant colorful plants I saw on our trip.

This is a wild Geranium.

This is a Jack in the Pulpit.

Padre,
I have never seen a Jack in the Pulpit, it is really an interesting plant. Nice shots.
Cheers,

Nice shots. The Jack in the pulpit is the closest I've been to a pulpit in quit a while.

I like the Jack too. It seems the green is a bit unusual wher I came from (MA). There was some maroon coloring in most that I have seen.

Beautiful series, Padre.

MrB, I believe they develop a darker color as they grow older or toward the end of their bloom.

Thanks Mr. B and Arvid. Mr. B we did see a few with the maroon variation. They have a slightly different scientific name but I am at work and don't have my book with me. Again, thanks for stopping in.

Thanks Jay, older Anglican (Church of England) and Roman (Catholic) pulpits were rounded at the bottom and had a top piece, thus "Jack in the Pulpit" name. Kind of cool!
