You handheld a camera to a telescope and got these? Wow! I thought you needed all sorts of expensive attachments to do that - you've broken the mould in my mind .

Thanks for the comments,

Camera was Fuji S5000

As for the telescope

Telescope Type: Refractor
Objective Lens Diameter: 114mm
Focal Length: 900mm
Eyepiece was a vixen 8mm-24mm zoom

I used a zoom eyepiece and could only get somewhere around 16mm as the eye relief
started to close down too much but with your eye you could zoom very very close.
Just wish I could have taken some of those pictures zoomed in that close

Also I find that when doing this in the winter works better than the summer, I think it has
something to do with the heat, the focus just not that great in the summer.

some tips - the moon is very bright fast shutter speed, spot meter and used macro mode
on the camera seem to help auto focus, manual focus on that cam too hard to do

One more, this one I used the moon filter that came with the telescope and really did'nt
know how to fix it in photoshop then, plus don't really need it for shooting photos, but for
looking with your eye this really helps out, when the scope is pointing at the moon you can
see a light stream comming out of the eyepiece standing away from the scope thats how
bright it can be.
