We've had two sows with three cubs each and I'm sure this was one of them that had three cubs just a few days ago. There have been at least two large boars around and I'm sure they got the other two cubs.

Lovely shot Bob. Sorry to hear about the missing cubs. I heardr that in the wild bear cubs have only 50% chance to survive to second year.

I can believe that statistic. Some years we see 100% survival and other years zero. It seems to depend on how many large boars are in the area. The biologist told me the high number of cubs per litter is a indicator of the ability of the area to support them. __________________
