Tom,
Not at the moment: I have no mac and use a special windows hosted plugin to make the plugins. You could go the highway: running windows on your mac, do the conversion there and then switch back to full mac. |

OK, heres a stab at it. Still not sure if I need to start with a monochrome
version or not. I did notice the program works off of RGB values. If I'm not mistaken I believe a monochrome from the DPI RAW converter leaves the RGB data intact. Now, there is the question of photoshop and the *disregard color data* in the gray scale selection. That might not be a wise idea if you are using the Minmaxer. I have no prove of this but the differences are so subtle. Here is one that I started out with monochrome and put it through the Minmaxer at my own choice settings. Is there any good tutorials on this subject. The tutorial provided is very basic. Which picture style is the best starting point? A lot of questions I do have. Workflows? Thanks! ![]() |

keith,
The best way is to start with a coloredd 8 bit version. Because in this way there is really different information in the RGB channels. Decide if you want to have a light contrast or deep contrast picture. If the answer is light: choose the channel with the most light contrast, lets say this is the R-channel. Next decide by clicking on the options min R ... or max R... gives the best result. Finally do overall contrast tweaking with the sliders, press oke and do some dodging/burning. Picture style is not important for the plugin, but for the scene information you want to capture. Hope this helps. |

Hello,
I'm discovering a love for the B&W rather late... Discovered this plugin and now I'm dying for a chance to use it. But, there's a but, I'm on a mac. Any chance of ever seeing that plugin work for Macs, or is there anything else similar for those of us across the fence? ;-) Thanks, Loa |

Loa,
Unfortunately not: I don't have a mac. I use a windows plugin called filtermeister to write these plugins. |

Hi, Rense! I followed the link, downloaded the files, de-compressed them, and it gave me 4 files... colorwheel, exo1, minmaxer with an Adobe symbol on it, and minmaxer with a plug on it. I'm a CS2 user. Which of these do I use, and how do I go about it?
Thanks in advance. |

Thanks for the assistance in installing the plugi-in, Rense. It's a very useful conversion tool... similar to the channel mixer. I converted a wedding shot, adding selective color through layer masking.

davew,
I don't have this combination (vista+cs3). Is there any response (an error message). It could be two problems: (1) you need more than 2GB memory (2) Disabling Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is turned on. for solving problem 1: I will pm you and updated version, could you please test it for me? for problem 2, there isn't a solution yet (you could try a restart with DEP turned off, like in this article). |
