I ordered two of this babies for my studio, one on upgrade and one so the first one doesn't feel lonely and grows better. Remember if you are a sleds dog and not in the first pair the changing seenery means nothing as all you see is the other dog ass.

LOL. I'm monitoring this forum. Not into LF or MF myself, but the technology is intriguing.

lecter,

Do you think you are going to have problems with the file sizes? Or are you shooting for billboard, large prints, or stock photography? And when you get it can you come over and let me play with it too.

Default gee... no update??

I've had it for a while now.
Taken a few images.
For anyone interested in the H1-2 Series lenses, I got the 300/4.5 to go along with the package I had.
Here's a couple of images from the San Diego Wildlife Park.
These are not outstanding images, but demonstrate that the System is not limited to just Fashion.
First one is with a 300/4.5 and a 1.7X Teleconverter (P45 back)

Second one is with the 300/4.5

Nice examples! Impossible to really appreciate the sheer size and detail that must be captured from the camera in these shots. Just how big are the images then?

If I link one the moderator will shoot me.
These are basically uncropped so they're the full 39MP 7000x5000 ish

Wow. I'm trying to work out how big a RAW file would be. Somewhere close to 80MB if uncompressed?

uncompressed around 40MB RAW . . . Typical 1MP = 1 MB

40MB is still pretty big I think . That does sound like it may be compressed (losslessly) though. A 10mp file on my E-400 is around 20MB, but Olympus don't apply lossless compression (unfortunately) so I guess if Oly were doing 39mp then we'd be looking at close to 80MB files. Or am I miscalculating?

My experience on RAW
D30 = ~3MB
D60 = ~6MB
1D = ~4MB
1Ds = ~11MB
1D2 = ~8mb
1Ds2 = ~16-18MB
5D = ~12-13MB
P25 = ~23MB
P45 = ~40MB
Not sure what Oly is doing.....
I think Nikon is similar . . .
You're correct on lossless compression.

Olympus is doing dumb things - they don't compress the RAW files so we end up with huge files. Hopefully they'll get with the program one day - either that or they have lots of stock invested in HD manufacturers .

Is it possible for you to post an crop on any of those images to let us see the resolvoing power, or link them to an full res. version jpg file? You do not have to link the so they show up, just put them as an link.

Would be fun seeing the full res verision and for me, go ahead and apply watermarks if you need that.
