The G does mean it has a glass lens, and those are usually called Wocas instead of Holgas. There is also the F for flash and CF for color flash, which has a nifty built-in color wheel so you can change the flash color. If you are in the market for a Holga, you might also check out what Randy Smith at www.holgamods.com is offering. He goes through the Holga and does some modifications to make it more useable. They are fun cameras to use. Please let me know if you need any more information. I love Holgas! |

Another fun thing you can do with a Holga is run 35mm film through it and make panoramas. You have to tape up the film counter window and guesstimate the next frame location, but the results are unique.
Here are a couple of my cat Hector. I think I used a Nikon SB-800 flash for these, which is worth about 20 times as much as the camera!<br> ![]() ![]() |

Hey, those are pretty cool. The Holga images are different and have no really comparison almost. Are the green and red streaks on the film, or a by product of what you were doing?
And you know, now somebody is gonna want a PS action or template to put them sprocket holes on thei digital images now. And you're gonna force Blinky to go get one of these Holgas, aren't ya? |

My film holders should be very similar. You tried the same thing I did at first, and you are correct that you can't just put the 35mm in the slot for the MF film. Try putting the film directly on the glass, then put the holder right on top of it, like you said.
If you get those weird "newton rings" when you scan, flip the film over and put the non-shiny side against the glass. You can reverse it in software later. Scan it like it is MF and you can get the sprocket holes that way. Let me know if you get stuck and I'll see if I can help more. I think these types of scans look really cool, and they are worth the effort! |

Speaking of "Holga" you can also get them from Freestyle Camera in California for about $19.95. These are fun little 120 film cameras. |

A new addition to the "Holga" line is that there is now a 35mm back for this camera along with a new polaroid back which takes the new 690 film.
