That's how it starts, next thing you know, you'll have this in your studio/living room:

Hey Michael,

Your not gonna believe this, but in 1986, I sold my Haliburton 106
(Alum. Case) full of Hassie stuff and it made the down payment
on our new house!

No joke!

It had 2 500C's, and SWC, polaroid, 120 and 220 backs, viewfinders,
several lenses, Man was it ever a heft to lug that around at weddings
all day.

I remember we drove for over six hours to get a 10 year old lens
and then paid $750.00 bucks cash for it!!!! My sweetie thought I
was NUTZZZZ!

(See that was back before the internet, and Overnight UPS.) LOL!!!!

Aw for the good ol days!!!! NOT!!!!

Very nice. What I paid for mine so far, you can't even rent a room.... *sigh*

Still need to get a lens, but the project is currently on the backburner.

Yea, its interesting how the value of things is always changing...

I paid Big Bucks for my Hassies, but now you can get them all
day long for a fraction of their cost...

I still find it amazing they are machined out of a solid chunk of
Alumimum, one piece, WOW, not molded or cast, machined....

Simply AMAZING!!!!

FYI

If you did not already know, be sure the back and insert has matching serial number.

Thanks... I did know, but I kind of feel like an idiot... I can't find the insert's serial number, despite having read numerous explanations of where it is. I know it's only a portion of it, but I must be blind or something.

BTW, I did finally get an 80mm f/2.8 normal lens for it; going to get my friend to show me how to load it so we can check it for leaks and stuff.

Considering that this body cost less than two 50mm f/1.8 lenses from Canon, you should definitely pick something like this up if you're interested. I think the Mamiya RB models go for a little less (at least, I know their lenses do) but they're larger- you'd still have the square format though. Bronicas seem to cost next to nothing but they're 645 and fairly awkward to flip on their side.
You'll probably find that the cost of lenses and necessary accessories (finder, film back(s)) starts to add up pretty quickly, and in fact might be better off looking for a package deal and selling this body... but maybe you'll find some bargains. I'd really love a hasselblad just for the sake of having one but I just can't justify it as I don't shoot MF nearly enough

Walter, that pic is horribly out of date, by leaving stuff lying about constantly, I now have a room just for my cameras, amazing. The 20x24 sits on the Gitzo, or folded up and in the closet. The C1 and the 8x10 Field camera share the shelf and the holders have their own shelf. The Sinar F1 sits on the studio stand most of the time, unless I take it out (like I am doing right now, in WI...)

No. 1 accessory to buy -

Split image rangefinder focus screen - makes focus so much easier.

No. 1a - Rapid finder rewind carank

No 2 - probably buy the 16 exp. back (1 7/8 x 2 1/4) more exposure per roll, nice if your on location.

No 3 - second back.

No 4 - Prism view finder

Been shooting with an 80mm attached to this set-up for a while now. Back needed a new light shield ($20), but in the end it worked out to be under the cost of an entry level DSLR and kit lens.

Pics to come (of the camera and pics taken with it), hopefully, whenever I have time.
