Default Re: How do I make an inexpensive start in medium format?

I still shoot and develop B&W 35mm occasionally, and then scan to do any further processing/printing on the computer. I have a film scanner for 35mm (a fairly old SCSI Polaroid Sprintscan 4000), but am thinking of getting a flat bed scanner as I'd like to scan in some old 4x6's (where the negs have disappeared). I was thinking that this would also be useful for scanning MF slides. Are there any recommendations out there that won't break the bank?

I have a Canon CanoScan 9900F that is a few years old. I use it for MF scanning and it works great. It will do 35mm film and slides, Medium Format, and 4x5. The newer models should be as good or better. They are around $350-400, and well worth it if you scan a lot.
